Home Learning

All classes have some form of home learning set each week. This is emailed out on a Friday and follows the same format for all classes. This is also added by Class Buddies to the relevant year group Facebook page. Home learning is intended to compliment the learning that happens in class. Children should be able to read, complete and bring back this independently. Home learning includes a variety of reading, writing, research, acquiring knowledge and applying learning.

Home learning will be looked at after it has been returned on a Wednesday. Home learning completed to a good standard will be stamped and celebrated with your child. Where home learning is of an excellent standard, your child may be given 'Home Learning Superstar' or a WOW to add to their class chart. Home learning superstars are listed each week on the Home Learning sheet set.

We love reading! Please make an opportunity to listen to your child read at least three times a week and write it in your child's reading record (Reception and above). Older children can read to themselves and have their book initialled by a parent. Children who read three times every week for a half term receive a very special reading badge. At the end of each term, children that have read 3 times a week for the whole term are entered into a prize draw. One child from each year wins a £5 token to spend in a local bookstore.

Three Reads

Every week after PPA teachers update their yellow boards. These boards are usually displayed outside your childs classroom, Year 4, 5 and 6 run along the side of the new build. Teachers will share the planned learning and any additional ideas of how you might support your child with this at home. The majority of this is talk based and practical ideas that you can do as a family!
